Fasting may be required If CBC only fasting is not required. For FBS and Lipid Profile 8–10 hours of fasting. Plain water is allowed.

Avoid alcohol, smoking, and strenuous exercise at least 24 hours before exam.

Bring eyeglasses/contacts, maintenance meds, and medical records if available.

Wear comfortable clothing and avoid jewelry.

For women: best scheduled 1 week after menstruation for urinalysis accuracy.
